Discovery Montessori uses a unique Montessori curriculum aligned to PA Early Learning and Learning Standards

Montessori philosophy is based on meeting the unique needs of each student in keeping with the Montessori philosophy of “follow the child.” Our skilled, Montessori-trained teachers harness the skills and abilities of each child and guide them through our curriculum with a unique learning plan. Each student will progress at their own pace through the following areas:

Grades 1-3:

Our early elementary students gain skills in core areas of math, literacy, science, social studies, history, geography, art, music, and gym. A well-rounded curriculum develops competencies in math operations, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, world and physical geography, biology, zoology, and physical science as well as an introduction to history, computers, and technology.

Students also continue studies in music, art, and gym at an age-appropriate level.

Throughout the year we undertake many activities to support our curriculum areas including seed cultivation, a visitor program, hatching chickens, as well as concerts, holiday events, and functions for school families.
